The Kids Department is an education and recreation facility run by fully qualified staff. We put on courses for kids between the ages of 8 and 16, based around beach activities.

This exciting new programme teaches children to acknowledge the importance of their local beach environment and how to enjoy the sea safely and responsibly.
The course itinerary is shown below.
Understanding the Sea
Wave formation, rips, beach topography and tides
What is sand and why is the sea blue and salty?
What is the role of lifeguards?
Beach safety equipment, flags, arm and whistle signals
Basic First Aid
The Kids Dept' runs a surf club programme that enables your child to learn to surf safely whilst having fun and meeting other children.
Weekly programme includes:
*Beach Awareness
*Progressive Surf Coaching, with use of all equipment
*Surf Safety with coaching in and out of the water
*Fitness and Flexibility training
*Beach Games
*All club members receive a certificate of achievement and gift bag at the end of the course.
Duration: 24 weeks
Time: Mondays or Wednesdays 16.15 - 17.45
Dates: Commencing Monday May 21st for 24 weeks BOOKING NOW!!!!!!
Ages:Ages 8 - 16 welcome, all abilities
Cost: Full Course - Mondays - 24 weeks £240 per child or 2 x instalments of £120
Individual weeks - Wednesdays £12 per session.
A beach party in every sense of the word!
Our parties take pass the parcel to the beach. To create the ultimate birthday bash for any child we can offer the following;

Rock Pooling
On special request our resident Pirate ‘Tall Tom Copper’ will accompany
and lead activities with the children.
A minimum of six children per party, each party lasts 2 hours suitable for 8-16 year olds.

This really is an activity. Snurfkling is our crème de la crème of activities for children. When there is no surf what is better than taking out a surf board and a snorkel mask and seeing what lies beneath.
What is involved?
Combing basic surfing skills and snorkelling
Discovering the sea floor from above
Different types marine plant life
Indigenous marine creatures
Feel what its like to float along with a shoal of fish
Look back at the coastline from the sea
Bored of showing your class the same old Sea Shore video?
Well why not come to our classroom on the beach!
Eco~Coasterring is a new innovative learning experience. Let our qualified staff take your children on an
‘up close and personal’ view of their coastline.
What does this involve?
Clambering over rocks and in caves
Discovering and seeing nature in it’s own undisturbed habitat
Chest height wading through rock pools
Jumping into the water
Swimming with the marine life
Won’t that be a bit dangerous and cold?
Every child will be issued with a wet-suit, buoyancy aid, helmet and whistle.
